Tatted Bird Medallions from Ceylon, 1923

Here are two wonderful tatted medallions in the shape of birds. They came from a family who traveled. A note with them said they were from Ceylon in 1923.
They appear to me to be made of cotton thread (I'm not a sewing expert). Size is about 5.25" long and 4" high. They appear to be in excellent condition. Figural medallions aren't easy to find, as they usually are in geometric shapes.
A beautiful find for the right person with a use for them.
