I've been collecting all my life, starting in coins in elementary school and stamps by early high school. As a child, I also played marbles for hours every day.
I moved into the commercial side of collecting in 1981, when I began selling stamps and coins in monthly mail bid auctions. During the next two decades I was doing this as a way to relax and regenerate from the pressures of ministry. I was in campus ministry for 15 years, and parish ministry for 12 years after that.
In 2000 I expanded to a full range of antiques and art, setting up in several antique malls. 2006 brought a big change when I left ministry as the recession bore down on us, and moved to an acreage in the middle of nowhere. Starting a full time antique business during a full-blown recession was a tough move, but I loved the freedom of being my own boss and the beauty of living in the country. My acreage was a piece of wounded land, so there were lots of opportunities to improve the site. I planted 3 acres of native prairie, worked on an acre of woods introducing native woodland flowers, and began planting hostas.
I began doing farmers markets, and today grow a full range of garden produce, 200 varieties of hostas, and 20 varieties of garlic.
During this time I began doing antique shows and flea markets around the Midwest, attending as many as 50 in a year, but averaging 30+. You can also find me online on Ebay, Etsy, and Ruby Lane.
I am a perpetual student and spend hours each day researching items online. I have a large personal library to help with identifying antiques. Finding the history behind an item is a real joy.
Today I specialize in marbles, stamps, coins, seed sacks, and postcards. I do a full range of antiques, collectibles, and art, however, looking especially for quirky and oddball items not often found.

I wanted to start a few eastern european varieties in spring, but bulbs and even bulbils of these varieties seemed to be sold out everywhere. I found the final variety I was looking for (Romanian) at dayspringcollectible, and when the bulbils arrived I was at first a bit disappointed that these were very tiny compared to others I had bought elsewhere. I also realised that the size, in part, must depend on the variety, so I painstakingly planted the many, tiny, weak-looking, papery pinpoints nonetheless. It's a few weeks later and the Romanian is by far the most vigorous and successful planting of all! Would definitely buy again from this seller. -Lisa

I got the record quickly in the mail, but it is so worn in spots of the grooves it makes it skip though out the record! I am returning it for a refund! He did not mention in the sale that the record was very worn! I got this record to play and not to hang on a wall. I collect Edison Diamond Discs and when I seen this was a not so common Edison Electrically recorded Diamond Disc and by B.A. Rolfe I had to have it, but when I opened the record I was so disappointed that I seen groove wear! It looks like steel needle wear! These types of Edison records are vertically recorded and not to be played on a Lateral phonograph with a steel needle! I am returning for a refund. Just arrived today and am impressed as what good shape it is in. I had no idea that these types of postcards existed. They are hand embroidered on silk and were used by Americans to send home to their loved ones. This particular one has the date penciled in the upper left corner of 1917. This store has quite a variety of WWI silk postcards from France and they are all worth a look. The plant came as healthy as it can from being transported in the heat. It came kinda crispy but the roots were in tact and moist. I had to cut the damaged leaves that were way too broken to save. I am happy there is still 3 large leaves and all the roots after a good cut and clean. -an

We recently moved into our new home, therefore inheriting the property that hadnt been maintained for at least 10 years. After clearing out the overgrowth and dead landscaping we are basically starting from scratch and I wish I would have found this seller before I had purchased any of my other starter plants! These were the healthiest baby hostas I have received and had absolutely no damage during shipment. Only soaked their roots several hours before planting and I'm so happy with them.
