Silk Bird Hanky, Framed and Matted

Here is a wonderful piece, that I believe could be an embroidered silk hanky that has been framed and matted in fabric. It has been doubled framed in fabric, and folded diagonals can be seen in the four corners. There is a thin inner frame around the bird motif, and a wider outer border that goes to the wooden frame.
The wood frame has been antiqued in a sponged gilded treatment. The inner embroidered picture shows a bird on flowers, and is about 5" by 6". The entire piece is 12"W by 12.75"H by 1.25"D.
