Andersonville, by MacKinley Kantor. First Edition, 1955. Stockdale Edition, of which 500 were published for the Civil War Book Club. Signed by the author on the Edition Page. Original dust jacket. Included the Civil War Book Club Review for this selection.
This book is an historical fiction account of life in a Civil War Prisoner of War camp. It won the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction in 1956.
Overall the book is in good condition with sound hinges and spine and creamy pages. The title page at some point got stuck to the frontispiece, creating damage including a loose piece and hole where it was. The spine has sun fading. The dust jacket has edge wear and small tears. The Review is in near mint condition.
Size is 9.5" by 6.5" by 1.75". 767 pages. Shipping Included to USA addresses.
