A beautiful Pueblo pottery bowl. This one from Rosita de Herrera (1940-), who is from the Ohkay Owingeh Pueblo (formally the San Juan Pueblo). Herrera went back into the Pueblo history for this design, which is a Potsuwii'i Incised (c. 1450-1500) Revival Bowl. Geometric incisions are set off with a polished red slip, while a micaceous slip inside the incisions is used for accented decoration.
Excellent condition overall. Size is 3.5" high and 4.5" wide. It is signed "Rosita de Herrera, San Juan Pue.).
