First Edition. Centennial and Other Poems by Kate Harrington. Published by J. B. Lippincott & Co. in 1876. Title poem was done for the USA Centennial. Many poems with Iowa references, where she was living at the time.
Hardback book is in good condition. Spine is sound, as are endpapers with no writing. Gift inscription on an inside page. Hinges are cracked on the surface, but not split through. Title page and frontispiece have foxing from the glassine overlay. Corner and edge wear as to be expected from a book this old, especially on the bottom edge where cloth is worn through. Pages are creamy in color with just a hint of tan.
Size of the book is about 7.5" by 5" by 1". 252 pages plus several illustrations.
