Here is a fantastic etching by Dorothy F. Sweet of Westminster Abbey in London. Excellent condition. Titled and signed in pencil. Size is 20" by 14.5" in the frame. The print area itself is about 10.5" by 7.5".

It is framed under glass in a period thin wood frame. The frame shows some light wear, but of course, the value is in the etching.

Dorothy Sweet was a talented English engraver and etcher of landscapes and architectural views, Dorothy Sweet first began to exhibit her art in the early 1920′s with the Abbey Gallery, London, and with the Society of Women Artists. The majority of her art depicted scenes in and around the London area. She was equally skilled at dry point engraving, etching and colour printmaking.

It is believed that with the beginning of the Great Depression in 1930, Dorothy Sweet, like so many other talented artists, was forced to abandon her career.

Dorothy F. Sweet is listed in The Dictionary of British Artists 1860-1940.

As always, buy more than one item from my shop and I'll combine the shipping. I don't make a profit on shipping like some sellers do. However, etsy's calculator doesn't do well with combined orders, so you may get a partial refund of your shipping cost after you have paid for the order.

Keep in mind that many of my items are one-of-a-kind, and I have local customers looking at them. If you buy something that has just sold locally and wasn't yet removed, the order will be cancelled and your full payment returned to you, unless I have a similar item in stock.
