Couroc Hummingbird Kachina Bowl, Hand Inlay

Vintage bowl made by Couroc in Monterey California. This one depicts a Hopi hummingbird kachina. These beautiful mid-century bowls were made by a proprietary process that set hand inlaid natural materials such as wood, shells, brass, etc. into a phenolic resin base. Because of the hand set inlay, no two bowls are identical. They were sold at high end department stores, and because they resisted alcohol, boiling water and cigarette burns were popular in home bars.
Excellent condition with the original sticker on the back having slid in position. Size is 7.75" in diameter and 1.25" in height.
