Here is an advertising piece for an old silent movie. Nobody's Money was a 1923 silent movie comedy. It starred Jack Holt, Wandy Hawley, Harry Depp, Robert Schable, Walter McGrail, Josephine Crowell, and Julia Faye. It was directed by Wallace Worsley, and written by Beulah Marie Dix, based on a play by the same name written by William Lebaron. It was released on January 28, 1923 by Paramount Pictures. It is not known whether the film currently survives.
This is a piece of advertising done in the size, shape and colors of old large size currency. No doubt it was made to be left lying around in the hopes someone would pick it up, thinking they had found money. It would be stamped on the back with the name of the local theater showing the film. This piece is a near-mint example that had not yet been stamped. Size is about 3.25" high by 7.25" long. It is in a large currency sleeve for protection. It is in excellent condition with a light vertical crease in the middle of the "bill," and some tiny minor corner bends.
A very seldom seen piece of advertising that should go into every collection of silent film memorabilia.
